CIO Association / CIO Club is a not-for-profit association of CIOs across India, currently there are >1500 CIOs of various organisations from India part of this. The organisations represent different corporations of India, from various Industry verticals.
CIO Klub is governed by a central Governing body (GB) and chapter councils. There are 12 chapters in India – Delhi NCR, Punjab(Chandigarh) in North, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Nagpur & Pune in the West, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore & Kerala in the South, and Kolkata in the East. Also one International Chapter in Dubai as well as plans of more International chapters in Singapore, Colombo & Dhaka
The Kolkata chapter of CIO Club has member CIOs from various corporate organisations of Kolkata, including conglomerates like ITC & Aditya Birla Group to Manufacturing, BFSI, Apparel and other sectors.
The 4th Anniversary of the Kolkata chapter is happening at the Hyatt Regency Kolkata on 26th Nov, being attended by 120+ CIOs from various parts of the country and even neighbouring Bangladesh. Apart from Kolkata and other PAN India Metro cities, several CIOs from nearby cities like Guwahati, Dhanbad and Bhubaneswar are also attending.
The State of West Bengal, Dept. of IT & Electronics is actively partnering with CIO Club Kolkata chapter in organising this event. The Minister-In-Charge Information Technology & Tourism has also kindly consented to grace the occasion taking time out of his busy schedule. The Principal Secretary, Dept. of IT&E, Govt. of West Bengal is also requested to provide a key-note address. The CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) for the State of West – Additional Commissioner of Police (IPS, 1998) Mr. H K Kusumakar, and the Jt. Secretary of Dept. of IT&Electronics and in-charge of Centre Of Excellence Cyber Security, who is the State SISO, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Das, will engage in an exciting chat around Cyber Security – “Prevention v/s Cure – 360 Perspective”
Several Industry Leaders like Ms. Preeyam Budhia, President – Patton Group, as well as noted Academicians like Prof Amlan Chakraborti, Head of Dept. of IT & Tech Innovation Cell, Govt. of West Bengal as well as Director IT, AKC School Calcutta University, will also be gracing the occasion and engaging in fire-side chats with senior CIOs of CIO Klub.
CIO Klub Kolkata Secretary, Mr. Sourav Das, who is CDIO of Aditya Birla Group Essel Mining, along with President Mr. Manmohan Goyal and Treasurer Mr. Sanjeev Sinha – who is President Digitalisation of India Power of SREI Group, informs that this platform promises to bring the entire IT Eco-System under the same roof, so that there can be learning and engagement. The day-long program will have Tech Talks from various IT Partners like Apple Macintel Solutions, Amazon Web Services, WorkMates Core2Cloud, TrendMicro, Zoho Corporation, Logitech, Tata Tele Business Services, Arodek, CloudHub, Capitaland, ControlS, AchieveX, Aforeserve, SCH & Megatherm IT, along with stalls showcasing the latest products and services in IT & Digital.
The event being hosted in Kolkata, it is named as the “Digital Adda @ Kolkata Konnect” and apart from all the Tech-talks and Panel Discussions, as a CSR initiative will showcase the fine Art & Culture of Bengal with self-help group ladies from various districts of Bengal displaying their handicrafts to the visitors, as well as a city tour / cruise on the Ganges for the outstation visitors.
