– A joint initiative between Berhampore Municipality and Yashoda Hospitals – Hyderabad to spread awareness for prevention of Hepatitis in public interest.

Viral hepatitis continues to be a global health challenge, affecting over 300 million people worldwide. Among the key culprits are Hepatitis A, B, C, and E viruses—each with different modes of transmission and clinical implications. Hepatitis B and C are blood-borne viruses that often go undetected until they cause serious liver complications such as cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. They spread through unsafe blood transfusions, unsterile medical procedures, sharing of needles, and from mother to child during birth. In contrast, Hepatitis A and E are primarily transmitted through contaminated food and water, leading to acute but self-limiting liver infections.

Prevention remains the cornerstone of hepatitis control. Vaccination is available and highly effective for Hepatitis A and B. Safe medical practices, blood screening, hygiene, sanitation, and public education play vital roles in curbing the spread of all hepatitis viruses.

At Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, we are deeply committed to combating viral hepatitis through a comprehensive, patient-centric approach. We have established a dedicated Liver & Hepatitis Clinic, backed by cutting-edge diagnostic tools, Fibroscan, genotyping, and viral load monitoring for early detection and precise treatment planning.
