December 15, 2022 – The Department of Physics, Adamas University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Centre for Space Physics (ICSP), Kolkata, on December 15, 2022. This is the first time that ICSP has signed a MoU with an Indian University. This MoU is going to provide ample opportunities for students and faculty members to explore different activities jointly related to astronomy, astrophysics, and space research. The MoU was signed by Sudip Mukherjee, Registrar, Adamas University, and Prof. Sandip Chakrabarti, Director, Indian Centre for Space Physics (ICSP).

Prof. Sandip Chakrabarti, Director, Indian Centre for Space Physics (ICSP), mentioned during the interaction that “the coming years are going to be very exciting for research in astrophysics and space science, and ICSP is going to play a lead role in that.” He also said such MoUs will increase the possibility for Adamas University students to do projects, internships, and research in the field of astrophysics and space research. In fact, there is a possibility that, in the near future, Adamas will start a joint programme on astrophysics courses in collaboration with ICSP, Kolkata. Very soon, the ICSP is going to inaugurate its very own space museum in its Kolkata headquarters, where the milestones of its space research initiatives will be displayed along with many other exciting features.
