Bharat Chamber of Commerce Launches Tagore Institute of Peace Studies (TIPS) with a Thoughtful Session on “Education is Business: But With a Difference”

Kolkata, 28 July 2025: The Bharat Chamber of Commerce launched The Tagore Institute of Peace Studies (TIPS)—an initiative dedicated to academic research, dialogue, and policy engagement in peace and conflict resolution. The launch, held in Kolkata, brought together esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Naresh Pachisia, President, Bharat Chamber of Commerce; Ambassador Anil Wadhwa (IFS, Retd.); Mr. Anil Swarup (IAS, Retd.); Mr. Sitaram Sharma, Founder President, TIPS; and Dr. N.G. Khaitan, Advisor, TIPS, who shared their perspectives on the importance of institutionalising peace as a field of study.

The event featured a special session on “Education is Business: But With A Difference”, which explored the evolving role of education in today’s world—balancing enterprise with ethics, and innovation with inclusivity. The discussion emphasized education’s role in shaping responsible citizens and contributing to long-term societal development.

The launch of TIPS marks not just the beginning of a new institution, but a renewed commitment to peace, purpose, and progress, as the Bharat Chamber of Commerce continues to shape meaningful discourse and foster inclusive development through education and dialogue.
