Florian Hurel: Looking at the beauty industry today, people are more conscious about choosing treatments that suit them
Florian Hurel, a renowned name in beauty and hairstyling, styled accomplished Bollywood celebrities such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kriti Sanon, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mira Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Yami Gautam, has opened a new salon ‘The Florian Hurel hair Couture and Spa’ in Mumbai’s bustling Bandra neighborhood, and it’s more than just a beauty hub—it’s a personal, creative project rooted in family and artistry.
Florian’s motivation for choosing Bandra is simple and heartfelt. “We have opened in Bandra because my family, my brother-in-law, and associates like Zarir all live in Bandra,” Florian explains. “It’s special because it’s close to us, close to the film/cinema industry.” This close connection to the area has shaped the salon’s unique design and ambiance, where Florian and his wife, Rii, infused their own creative touches. “We’ve made this place very artistic with unique touches, featuring architectural designs created by my wife Rii and executed by us all. There’s a personal touch everywhere, from the reception area to the entire setup, which we’ve all helped create with our own hands,” he shares.
Bandra’s salon now has something truly distinct. Florian explains that it isn’t simply a salon. “We’ve brought something unique here, not just anything, but we’ve added a Korean spa experience that’s already proven successful. It’s a big space, with a gym, sauna, salon, and it’s like a full health and wellness complex.” Florian’s vision is to provide a complete rejuvenation experience, blending beauty and wellness in one welcoming space.
Florian also reflects his dedication to offering an experience. “It’s intended to provide a retreat from the busy city, creating a place where you don’t feel like you’re in Mumbai. This is what we’re aiming to achieve,” he says.
Observing the modern beauty industry, Florian has noticed a shift toward more conscious, personalized choices. People today, he believes, “Looking at the beauty industry today, people are more conscious about choosing treatments that suit them, with simplicity and tailored design,” he says.
Florian’s passion for self-care extends beyond beauty treatments. “Grooming and self-care have become essential regardless of profession,” he explains. “It’s very important, especially with monthly self-care routines, to take care of both mind and body. Because if the mind isn’t healthy, then the body won’t be either. So, I would say mental health comes first, and then physical health will follow.” His approach highlights the idea that true beauty and wellness are holistic, starting from mental well-being and flowing naturally into physical care.
With his new Bandra salon, Florian Hurel is creating a space where beauty, wellness, and a sense of comfort, offering clients a chance to feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and truly cared for.
