International Men’s Day: Rohit Choudhary urges men to take care of their health, well being

This International Men’s Day, treat yourself to some stress -free time, says Gadar 2 actor Rohit Choudhary. He adds that men should also take time to de-stress and take care of their health.

“Did you know that a study released by Reuters Health in New York has found a significant and substantial decline in testosterone levels among U.S. men dating back to the 1980s? This research highlights a concerning trend, as testosterone is a critical hormone that influences various aspects of men’s health, including energy, mood, and physical strength. What’s particularly interesting is that this drop in testosterone levels does not appear to be connected to the natural aging process. The exact causes of this trend remain unclear, and scientists are still working to understand why this change is occurring. But we do know that stress can be a factor that can trigger many unwanted changes in our bodies,” says the actor.

He adds that today the lines between men and women are blurring. “In today’s world, we are also seeing an increase in traditionally feminine trends and behaviors being embraced by men. This shift in cultural norms makes me think that there should be more open conversations about the meaning and significance of International Men’s Day. After all, men face unique challenges and expectations, and it might be beneficial to recognize and discuss these issues more openly,” he says.

But he questions the importance of dedicating one day to each gender. “However, to be completely honest, I sometimes wonder if these dedicated days—whether for men, women, or other causes—are truly meaningful or if they are largely a result of commercialization. In many cases, these observances seem to be marketing tactics designed to promote specific products or businesses rather than genuine efforts to support or raise awareness for a cause.

Men, of course, are fully capable of showing emotions and being vulnerable, but they often choose to do so only in front of people they deeply trust. Men typically open up with those they feel comfortable confiding in, allowing them to express their emotions in a way that feels safe and authentic,” he says.
