The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) is organizing “Distribuelec and Buildelec 2024 Exhibitions” scheduled from 16th – 18th January 2024 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Mumbai. As a prelude to that MCCI and IEEMA organized this Outreach Activity & Roadshow today at the Chamber.

Shri Devesh Goel, Chairman, Eastern Region, IEEMA, addressed today’s session.

Shri Devesh Goel in his address said that IEEMA is a 76-year-old apex industry association of the Indian electrical and allied electronics manufacturers. IEEMA members have contributed to more than 90% of the power equipment installed in India. He mentioned that “Distribuelec and Buildelec 2024 Exhibitions” would provide a huge opportunity for the manufacturers of electrical & renewable equipment and technology providers to showcase the solutions which can help in Outage Management, Grid Management, Demand Management, Metering, Micro Grid, Storage, Sub-Station Rooftop and Feeder Automation etc.

Shri Goel mentioned that Shri R K Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Power & New and Renewable Energy, Government of India has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest of the Distribuelec and Buildelec 2024 Exhibitions.

There will be one-to-one meetings with 200 foreign buyers from Africa, CIS, Europe, South East Asia, and SAARC countries and 100 domestic buyers comprising procurement officials of DISCOMs; EPCs, Railways/Metro; Solar EPC; MEP Consultants, and Builders.

Shri Rishabh Kothari, Past President, MCCI mentioned that India is one of the largest consumers and producers of electricity. Although India has adequate power generation capacity, a substantial portion of the population still has limited access to electricity, mainly because of the lack of proper transmission and distribution infrastructure. The Indian electrical equipment industry has made significant progress in the past decade. He complimented the Prime Minister’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative for furnishing a fillip to the electric equipment sector with policies that support business.

The Session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Shri Avijit Ghosh, Co-Chairman, Council on Industry, Power & Renewable Energy, MCCI, and Executive Director – Distribution Services, CESC.
