Newsbeat Media Durgapujo Fashion League 2024- A Celebration of Style, Culture, and Community
Kolkata, India – The city of Kolkata witnessed a spectacular blend of fashion, culture, and community spirit at the Newsbeat Media Durgapujo Fashion League, organized by Newsbeat Media India Group ,Roy’s Taekwondo Academy, Epicsphere Entertainment, and Third Eye Photography. The event was held at the prestigious Regenta Orkos Kolkata and saw participation from seven top Durga Puja clubs of Kolkata, showcasing a unique fashion ramp that celebrated the essence of Durga Puja.
The Fashion Extravaganza:
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Sri Arunakshya Bhattacharjee, Chief Sub-Editor at ABP (Ananda Bazar Patrika), a renowned poet, painter, social worker, philosopher, and speaker, who honored the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The distinguished Jury panel included:
Grand Master Pradipta Kumar Roy – An international sports personality and prominent figure in Taekwondo, who has served as a sports consultant for the Indian Statistical Institute President, GCS West Bengal India Chapter ,World Taekwondo Plaque of Appreciation Recipient , General Secretary, Roy’s Taekwondo Academy ,Director, Apex Professional Taekwondo Federation ,General Secretary, Taekwondo Association of West Bengal and is the Founder and CEO of Newsbeat Media India Group
International Master Ruma Roy Chowdhury – A Hall of Honor recipient and former national team member, she holds various esteemed positions in global Taekwondo organizations ,Former National Team Member & International Champion ,Regular Member, World Taekwondo Leaders Forum, Secretary General, GCS West Bengal India Chapter, Vice President, World Taekwondo Organization ,Board Member (India), World Professional Taekwondo Federation and is a leading force behind Newsbeat Media India Group.
Mrs. Suparna Mukherjee – Mrs. Universe Perfect and an accomplished image and personality coach.
Mrs. Arpita Bose – Mrs. Bengal 2nd Runner-Up and a prominent actress and model grooming expert.
Devjani Mitra – Founder of I Glam and a recognized styling specialist.
Mrs. Jyoti Jain – A renowned cosmetologist and makeup trainer.
Special Guests of Honour included Mrs. Parul Sehgal Gulati (Mrs. India Universe Fabulous 2018), Pandit Achinta Bhattacharya (Pradhan Raj Ganak, Gupta Press Panjika), Miss Orindrila Satra (Assistant Director, Tollywood), and Mr. Subhadeep Mitra (Fashion Designer).

The showstopper moments were led by Akash Bharati and Subhra Sengupta, adding an extra layer of glamour to the evening. The fashion designs were curated by the talented Subhadeep Mitra.

The fashion show was conducted in two thrilling rounds, and after careful consideration by the honorable judges, the results were announced:

• Champion: Bhowanipur 75 Palli
• Runners-Up: Dumdumpark Sarbojanin
Cultural Performances:
The evening was not only about fashion; it also included musical and dance performances that added a vibrant cultural flair to the event. The Indo-Western musical band “Agni” from South City International School, featuring young talents aged 12 to 15, mesmerized the audience with their eclectic mix of melodies and rhythms- The band members include: – Two lead vocalists, Shreyanshu and Roshni, who bring soulful melodies and harmonies to the table,- Guitarist, Shreesh, who adds a touch of rock and roll to the band’s sound.,- Tabla player, Yudhajit, Aharshi and Vivaan who infuses traditional Indian rhythms into the music,- Cajon player, Aditya, who brings energy and drive to the performances.- Flute player, Ryka, who adds a touch of classical elegance to the music.- Keyboardist, Janak, who creates rich textures and layers to the sound. Additionally, a touching dance performance by special children from Behala Anwesha The Quest highlighted the inclusive spirit of the event.
