Relish the Ilish: A Celebration of Ilish and Bengali Cuisine at Astor Kolkata

Kolkata, July 2024– The monsoon season brings with it the much-anticipated arrival of Ilish, the prized fish that holds a special place in Bengali hearts and kitchens. Known for its rich, delicate flavor and tender texture, Ilish (Hilsa) is more than just a dish; it’s a symbol of the season’s bounty and a cherished part of Bengali culinary tradition. Astor Kolkata is delighted to announce “Relish the Ilish,” a special menu that celebrates this iconic fish and the vibrant flavors of Bengali cuisine.

Relish the flavours of Ilish at Astor Kolkata, located at 15, Shakespeare Sarani Rd, Kankaria Estates, Park Street area, Kolkata- 70007. The “Relish the Elish” menu features an exquisite selection of dishes designed to highlight the versatility of Ilish. Start your meal with appetizers like Ilish Macher Ghee Dim Roast and Calcutta Cabin Style Ilish Macher Cutlet.

For the entrée, choose from Thakumar Bhapa Ilish, Shorshe Kancha Lonka Ilish, The Ilish Tramfrado, Ilish Mach-er Teil Begun, Charcoal Smoked Ilish, and Bhaja Ilish.

Guests can also enjoy their special Thali, which includes Ilish Tel, steamed rice, Ilish Bhaja, Bhapa or Shorshe, papad, and dessert, or indulge in the Bhooni Khichuri Thali featuring Ilish-er Dim roast, Ilish Bhaja, kalo moricher chutney, papad, and dessert.
