Saptak Music School of Pittsburgh Presents a Spellbinding Evening of Indian Classical Music
Pittsburgh, PA, USA- The Saptak Music School of Pittsburgh, in collaboration with the Music Department of Chatham University, hosted a memorable evening of Indian classical music that left audiences enthralled and inspired. The event was held at Chatham University, bringing together students, music connoisseurs, and the local community for a cultural celebration of India’s rich musical heritage.
Guided by Smt. Nidrita Mitra Sinha and Sri Ashish Sinha, the program highlighted the school’s dedication to nurturing musical talent while creating platforms for world-class performances.
The evening commenced with soulful renditions by the young disciples of Saptak Music School, setting the stage for the maestros. The spotlight then turned to Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya, the world-renowned Santoor virtuoso and disciple of the legendary Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar. He was accompanied on the tabla by the acclaimed percussionist Pandit Subhajyoti Guha, whose dynamic rhythms added brilliance to the performance.
Pandit Bhattacharya presented Raga Jansammohini in both Jhaptaal and Teentaal, followed by a garland of Dhuns that captivated the hall. The depth, precision, and melodic grace of his playing transported the audience into a realm of pure bliss, culminating in a spontaneous standing ovation.
