Unveiling of Logo of SUSMITA LAHIRI at PBF EXPO 2023
Susmita Lahiri is a talented creative entrepreneur and the proud owner of the brand styled in her own name – SUSMITA LAHIRI.
Susmita started her journey from her days of vibrant youth into the world of Saris with great passion, but in her own words, she began her pursuit of passion in an amateurish way.
She started designing both cotton and silk saris, mainly with hand block print in different style, with unique designs only. Hand painting on saris was another form.
She personally prefers handwork, rather than machine work. And those saris were quite a hit all over India at a time.
Over the years, through sheer perseverance and hard work, Susmita Lahiri had succeeded in showcasing her range of talent and her beautiful collection of saris through few television channels and online media.
Through such promotions, she got overwhelming response and started to design more saris, experimenting with various stitches like Katha stitch, Gujrati stitch, Cross stitch, etc.
But still she was not satisfied. She always wanted to do something unique, something of her own style.
She believes that Fashion can change, but not Style. And her focus of style enhancement is in weaving and painting mainly. Story-telling was her hobby. So, the idea of showcasing stories through saris came naturally to her mind, mainly inspired from Baluchari style.
Susmita Lahiri launched the new Logo of her brand – SUSMITA LAHIRI – through a glittering fashion show on stage of PBF EXPO at Eastern Metropolitan Club, presented by Pointers Business Forum on 23rd December, 2023.
Being a proud Pointer, Susmita Lahiri is very happy that her brand has been re-launched by successful individuals (selected from South Point fraternity) who walked the ramp in her honour.
Her logo launch was the focal point of an enchanting eve at PBF EXPO on 23rd Dec., whereby her range of saris and dresses were highlighted in a fantastic manner in front of about 500+ attendees, 50+ exhibitors, many Pointers and other zealous visitors at PBF Expo at Eastern Metropolitan Club, Kolkata.
About her signature project, entrepreneur Susmita Lahiri says- “I believe in doing simple artwork in my unique style. And another thing I must say, saris are not limited among women only. Sari can be worn by men too, by draping them in various style. I have even launched shirts made from Dhonekhali saris for men and it was such a hit. One sari can be worn by men and women by draping in different style.”
