He still romances on-screen with the same charm as when he started: Karan Gulianii on SRK
Karan Gulianii, who has made a name for himself with his directorial projects like Amrinder Gill, Ranjit Bawa-starrer Sarvann, which was produced under Priyanka Chopra’s banner, and Amritsar Chandigarh Amritsar, starring Gippy Grewal and Sargun Mehta, feels that the superstar cannot be limited to an age bracket and said that he has redefined love and romance.
“I don’t think we should limit Shah Rukh Khan to any age bracket. No matter how old he gets, he still romances on-screen with the same charm as when he started, which I think was at 23 or 24, if I’m not mistaken. If you look back, before his time, expressing love was different. People used to hesitate to say ‘I love you’ openly. But thanks to Shah Rukh Khan, people found the courage to express their emotions, to tell each other how they truly feel,” he said.
“Today, you see so many couples who openly express their love and confidently propose to each other, and they’re happily living together.Shah Rukh Khan has, in a way, taught us all how to love. His journey and success stories are inspiring for anyone with dreams and goals. I think it’s a small thing to say, but he truly taught this generation how to love. I just wish he lives long, stays healthy, and continues to romance on screen, showing us that love is timeless and for everyone,” he added.
Karan called him a global star and said that it’s because of the love and dedication he has for his craft, which is not restricted to the fees. “He is loved worldwide, and there’s a simple reason for it: he spreads love. Unlike others who may focus on their fees for a film, Shah Rukh Khan doesn’t make it about the money. For example, there was an interview with Raj Kapoor’s son, Rishi Kapoor, where he mentioned that Shah Rukh Khan didn’t take any money for a film. He didn’t even ask for it; he simply asked, ‘Tell me the dates; I don’t need to hear the story.’ He knew that no one could portray romance like Shah Rukh Khan, and Rishi Kapoor knew it too,” he said.
“Only someone like Shah Rukh Khan could express that kind of love on screen. I believe that’s why the world loves him so much; he has shared so much love with the world, and now he receives it back. It’s a simple truth—the more you give to the world, the more you receive. Shah Rukh Khan chose to spread romance and love, and that’s why people of all ages love him. He is, in the truest sense, a super global star from Bollywood,” he added.
He also pointed out that SRK taught the next generations what love truly is. “He showed us what it means to love, the importance of expressing our feelings, and how powerful it can be to say what’s in our hearts. We are all grateful to him for this. For me, growing up in North India, where English isn’t spoken as much, there was always a bit of a confidence barrier. Sometimes, you’d have feelings for someone but couldn’t express them. You might really like a girl but couldn’t gather the courage to tell her because you felt unsure or lacked confidence.Shah Rukh Khan taught us to be fearless in expressing our love,” he said.
“His movies showed us that it doesn’t matter what language you speak or where you come from—just go and express yourself. Love is one of the most beautiful feelings, and he made us believe it’s worth sharing. It’s because of him that our generation found the confidence to express love openly and truly,” Karan ended.
