Shri Pratap Singh Shami, SDG RDSO Visited Braithwaite & Co. Limited
Kolkata, 4th January 2025- Shri Pratap Singh Shami, Special Director General (Vendor Development) of the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) along with Shri Sanjay Kumar, CMM (G)/ER, Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Executive Director, QA (Mechanical), Kolkata and RDSO team, visited Braithwaite & Co. Limited (BCL), a Miniratna-I CPSE under the Ministry of Railways on 04th January 2025.
During his visit, Shri Shami conducted a comprehensive inspection of the facility and observed various stages of wagon manufacturing. He expressed keen interest in the production processes, quality control measures, and innovative practices being implemented in the workshop. Shri Shami interacted with the workforce and management, gaining insights into the organization’s efforts to enhance efficiency and meet the growing demand for high-quality rail wagons.
The visit commenced with a warm welcome extended by Md. Asad Alam, Chairman and Managing Director, Braithwaite & Co. Limited. Later, Shri Shami also engaged with several vendors during his visit, echoing the need for collaborative efforts in vendor development to bolster the railway supply chain. He underscored the importance of a robust vendor network in achieving the Ministry of Railways’ objectives.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Executive Director, QA (Mechanical), also impressed upon the importance of expanding and strengthening the vendor base to make the railway supply chain more resilient and efficient. At the end, Shri Shami finished the visit by thanking the BCL team’s efforts and urged them to continue contributing to the modernization and extension of India’s rail infrastructure.
