আন্তর্জাতিক যোগা দিবস পালিত হল মঙ্গলকোটে

রাহুল রায়,মঙ্গলকোট : রবিবার,১২ তম আন্তর্জাতিক যোগা দিবস উপলক্ষে নানান কর্মসূচি পালিত হল পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলার মঙ্গলকোট ব্লকে। এইদিন সকাল থেকেই এলাকায় উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি হয়। যোগা দিবসকে সামনে রেখে যোগচর্চার মাধ্যমে স্বাস্থ্য সচেতনতার বার্তা ছড়িয়ে দিতে বিশেষ কর্মসূচির আয়োজিত হলো কাশেমনগর ফুটবল ময়দানে। উপস্থিত ছিলেন মঙ্গলকোটের বিধায়ক শিশির ঘোষ। মাজিগ্ৰাম বিশ্বেশ্বরী উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের নিয়ে যোগ শিবির অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। শিক্ষক শিক্ষিকা সহ ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা বিভিন্ন যোগাসন, প্রাণায়াম, শ্বাস-প্রশ্বাস নিয়ন্ত্রণের ব্যায়াম, পিটি এবং স্বাস্থ্যবিষয়ক অনুশীলন করা হয়। কাটোয়া গাছ গ্ৰুপের কনভেনার এবং মাজিগ্ৰাম বিশ্বেশ্বরী উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান শিক্ষক সুব্রত কুমার সাহা সমাজসেবী সৌমেন মুখোপাধ্যায়,মন্দিরা চট্টরাজ হিরন্ময় ঘোষের হাতে একটা চার গাছ উপহার তুলে দিলেন। এছাড়াও বিশ্ব হিন্দু পরিষদ কৈচর প্রখন্ডের পক্ষ থেকে যোগা দিবস উপলক্ষে বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয় মাথরুন নবীন চন্দ্র বিদ্যাতয়ের মাঠে। উপস্থিত ছিলেন পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলা পরিষদের সভাধিপতি শ্যামা প্রসন্ন লোহার,মঙ্গলকোট পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির সভানেত্রী শান্তনা গোস্বামী,স্কুলের প্রধান শিক্ষক পরিমল প্রধান,বিশ্ব হিন্দু পরিষদের মধ্যবঙ্গ প্রান্তের সেবা প্রমুখ সুজন মুখোপাধ্যায় সহ বিশিষ্টজনেরা। এই অনুষ্ঠানে হাজির হয়েছিলেন ছাত্র-ছাত্রী সহ এলাকাবাসীরা। যোগাভ্যাসের মাধ্যমে সুস্থ জীবনযাপনের বার্তা দিতে এবং যুবসমাজকে সচেতন করতে এই শিবিরের আয়োজন করা হয়। অতিথিরা নিয়মিত যোগচর্চার উপকারিতা সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করেন। আন্তর্জাতিক যোগ দিবসকে সামনে রেখে মঙ্গলকোট ব্লকে এই উদ্যোগ এলাকাবাসীর মধ্যে প্রশংসা কুড়িয়েছে।

Braithwaite & Co. Limited (BCL), a CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, observed the International Day of Yoga 2026 across its Corporate Office, Manufacturing Units, and Site Offices with great enthusiasm and active participation. This year’s observance was aligned with the global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Aging.”

At the Corporate Office, employees enthusiastically participated in a series of yoga and meditation sessions aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. The programme was graced by the presence of Shri Sanjeev Rastogi, Director (Production); Shri R. Veerabahu, Director (Finance); Shri P. K. Mishra, ED (HR, Operations & Services); Shri Debasis De, ED (Corp. Affairs, Purchase & BD), who joined employees in practicing various yogic exercises.
The yoga session was conducted under the expert guidance of renowned Yoga Instructor Ratri Samanta and her team, who demonstrated a range of asanas, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices suitable for all age groups.

Similar yoga sessions were organized at BCL’s manufacturing units and site offices, reflecting the organization’s collective commitment to health, wellness, and work-life balance.

:গোপাল চক্রবর্তী :ভারতীয় মজদুর সঙ্ঘ এর উদ্যোগে ১৯জুন সল্টলেকের এস ডি এফ মোড়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হোলো এক ঐতিহাসিক “শ্রমিক জাগরণ সভা “। শোষণের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদে সরব হন হাজার হাজার শ্রমিক ভাই ও বোনেরা। এদিনের সভার মূল বার্তা ছিলো -“অত্যাচার আর সহ্য নয়, শ্রমিকের অধিকার দিতেই হবে।” এদিন ছিলেন বিশিষ্ট শ্রমিক নেতা (টেলিকম ইউনিয়ন )বৈদ্য দে, সারা ভারত মহিলা প্রতিনিধি তাপসী সিকদার, বিধান নগর অঞ্চলের কর্মী স্বদেশ মজুমদার, বিশিষ্ট আইনজীবী গোরা সরকার, বলরাম নাইয়া, কিরণ হালদার, সভাপতি প্রশান্ত চক্রবর্তী, প্রতাপ গায়েন। সভায় বক্তারা কোম্পানির মালিকও সহ -মালিকদের করা হুশিয়ারী দিয়ে বলেন শ্রমিকদের অধিকার, ন্যায্য মজুরি, কর্মক্ষেত্রে নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। এদিন শ্রমিক দের অভিযোগ জানানোর জন্য বিশেষ “অভিযোগ বাক্স “চালু করার ঘোষণা করা হয়। বিশিষ্ট অতিথিরা বলেন শ্রমিক শক্তিশালী হলে দেশের অর্থ নীতি শক্তি শালী হবে।

নলহাটি, তথাগত চক্রবর্তী, সন্তান ও পরিবারের মঙ্গল কামনায় ষষ্ঠী দেবীর আরাধনায় মাতেন হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের মহিলারা।জ্যৈষ্ঠ মাসের শুক্লা ষষ্ঠী তিথিতে ষষ্ঠী পুজো অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। অনেকে আবার অরন্য বা জামাই ষষ্ঠীও বলে। মেয়েদের বিয়ের পর নতুন মেয়ে জামাই ও সন্তানদের সাথে নিয়ে বট বৃক্ষের তলায় এই আরাধনা করে তাদের দীর্ঘায়ু ও সুস্থতা কামনা করে মায়েরা। জামাইষষ্ঠী অত্যন্ত আনন্দের একটি উৎসব।মরশুমি ফল আম,জাম, লিচু ,কাঁঠাল সহ আরো অনান্য ফল ও বাঁশ পাতা সহ আরো অনান্য গাছের পাতা ও ফুল দিয়ে এই পূজো দেওয়া হয়।পূজো শেষে হলুদ সুতো পরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়।সঙ্গে থাকে বিস্তর খানাপিনার আয়োজন।বীরভূমের নলহাটির ভদ্রপুরে ষষ্ঠীর আরাধনার জন্য ভীড় জমিয়েছেন গ্রামের মহিলারা।

Beyond Pride Celebrations, ‘Samaaj’ Focused on Healing, Memory and Belonging

: Kolkata witnessed an evening of powerful storytelling and emotional reflection as Prantakatha presented Samaaj, a Pride Month dance-theatre experience that explored themes of memory, loss, resilience, and healing through queer lived experiences. Held at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC), the performance transformed personal narratives into a moving artistic conversation on identity, acceptance, and belonging.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Mr. Bernard Lynch, Australian Consulate-General Kolkata; Dr. Santosh Giri, Director, Kolkata Rista; Ms. Sudeshna Roy, noted filmmaker; Ms. Rukshana Kapadia, food consultant, reviewer and LGBTQ activist; and Ms. Suneha Saha, Co-Founder of Ammolite Ideators and LGBTQ activist. Their presence underscored the growing importance of creating platforms that encouraged inclusion, understanding, and representation.
Reflecting on the initiative, the Australian Consul in Kolkata shared his appreciation for Prantakatha’s role in enabling meaningful engagement among LGBTQIA+ youth. He commended the organisation for creating a safe and inclusive platform where young people from Kolkata and Mumbai could come together through art, storytelling, and shared experiences. The Consulate also expressed its delight in seeing diverse voices engage in dialogue, celebrate their identities, and foster greater visibility and inclusion. It further congratulated Prantakatha for curating a powerful Pride Month event that promoted empathy, understanding, and meaningful community connection.
Far more than a stage performance, Samaaj unfolded as an intimate and deeply moving experience that brought together dance, storytelling, and lived experiences to explore the many layers of queer lives. Presented as part of Pride Month, the production looked beyond visibility and celebration to reflect on themes of memory, loss, heartbreak, resilience, healing, and the search for belonging. Bhabna Nritya Shiksha Kendra proudly presents “Kabi Pranam 2026”, a special cultural tribute organized on the occasion of its 11th Annual Celebration. The event pays homage to Bengal’s two legendary literary icons, Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, under the theme:

The highlight of the evening will be a grand presentation of Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless dance drama Shyama, featuring an ensemble of distinguished artists and dancers.

The title role of Shyama will be portrayed by renowned Kathak dancer Sreya Das. Popular film and television actor Rubel Das will be seen in the role of Bajrasen, while acclaimed dancer Abhirup Sengupta will portray Uttiya.
