The clinic has been built around a continuity-of-care model, moving beyond one-time medical camps to create a structured healthcare touchpoint for the community. Specialist doctors—including gynaecologists, orthopaedic experts, general physicians, paediatricians, and other visiting practitioners—will visit the clinic every week to enable regular consultations, early diagnosis, and ongoing medical guidance. There are plans to have a medicine counter at the facility which will further ease access to treatment and help reduce the burden of travel, time, and cost for patients and their families.

সোমবার ইন্ডাসইন্ড ব্যাঙ্কের পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ৪৩টি এটিএমে কর্মরত ১২৬ জন নিরাপত্তারক্ষীকে চাকরি থেকে সরিয়ে দেওয়ার অভিযোগ তুলে আন্দোলনের পথে নামল বেঙ্গল প্রভিন্সিয়াল ব্যাঙ্কস’ কন্ট্র্যাক্ট এমপ্লয়িজ অ্যাসোসিয়েশন (BPBCEA)।সংগঠনের দাবি, সংশ্লিষ্ট নিরাপত্তা সংস্থা ও তাদের ভেন্ডরদের মাধ্যমে নিযুক্ত এই কর্মীদের ১ জুলাই ২০২৬ থেকে অপসারণের প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হয়েছে। একই সঙ্গে ২০২০ সালের অক্টোবর মাস থেকে বকেয়া কেন্দ্রীয় ন্যূনতম মজুরি , ভি.ডি.এ এবং অন্যান্য আইনসিদ্ধ আর্থিক সুবিধাও এখনও প্রদান করা হয়নি।
এই ঘটনার প্রতিবাদে সোমবার কলকাতার শেক্সপিয়ার সরণি এলাকায় ইন্ডাসইন্ড ব্যাঙ্কের শাখার সামনে বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচি পালন করে সংগঠন। তাদের অভিযোগ, দীর্ঘদিন ধরে কর্মরত নিরাপত্তারক্ষীদের ভবিষ্যৎ অনিশ্চয়তার মুখে ঠেলে দেওয়া হচ্ছে।সংগঠনের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়েছে, বহু নিরাপত্তারক্ষী ১৫ থেকে ১৬ বছর ধরে নিষ্ঠার সঙ্গে কাজ করে আসছেন। হঠাৎ করে চাকরি হারালে তাঁদের এবং তাঁদের পরিবারের উপর চরম আর্থিক ও সামাজিক সংকট নেমে আসবে।
ইন্ডাসইন্ড ব্যাঙ্ক কর্তৃপক্ষ, সংশ্লিষ্ট ঠিকাদার সংস্থা এবং প্রশাসনের কাছে অবিলম্বে হস্তক্ষেপের দাবি জানিয়েছে ইউনিয়ন। পাশাপাশি চাকরি বহাল রাখা, বকেয়া মজুরি প্রদান এবং সমস্ত আইনসিদ্ধ সুবিধা নিশ্চিত করার আবেদন জানানো হয়েছে। উক্ত সংগঠনের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সৈয়দ মো: সাহাবুদ্দিন জানিয়েছেন -” দাবি পূরণ না হলে আগামী ২০ জুন ২০২৬ রাজ্যের সমস্ত ইন্ডাসইন্ড ব্যাঙ্ক শাখা ও এটিএমের সামনে রাজ্যব্যাপী ধর্না ও গণআন্দোলন কর্মসূচি পালন করা হবে”।

রাহুল রায়,মঙ্গলকোট : মঙ্গলকোট ব্লকের নিগনগ্ৰামে এক ব্যতিক্রমী দৃশ্যের সাক্ষী থাকলেন এলাকাবাসী। বিজেপির বাংলা জয়ের পর নিজের প্রতিজ্ঞা পূরণ করতে মাথা-মুন্ডন করলেন বিজেপি কর্মী জিতেন্দ্রনাথ সর। এই ঘটনাকে ঘিরে এলাকায় চর্চা শুরু হয়েছে।
নিগনগ্ৰামের বাসিন্দা জিতেন্দ্রনাথ সর দীর্ঘদিন তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সক্রিয় কর্মী ছিলেন। ২০১৬ সালের বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে মঙ্গলকোটের তৃণমূল প্রার্থী সিদ্দিকুল্লা চৌধুরীর জয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করেছিলেন বলেও দাবি করেন তিনি। সেই সময় ব্লক সভাপতি ছিলেন কেষ্ট মণ্ডলের ঘনিষ্ঠ অপূর্ব চৌধুরী।
পরবর্তীতে ২০২০ সালে বিজেপি নেতা শিশির ঘোষের হাত ধরে বিজেপিতে যোগ দেন জিতেন্দ্রনাথ সর। বিজেপিতে যোগদানের পর থেকেই রাজনৈতিক কারণে তাঁকে একাধিক মিথ্যা মামলায় ফাঁসানো হয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ করেন তিনি। এমনকি তাঁর বাড়িতে ভাঙচুর চালানো হয় বলেও দাবি করেন জিতেন্দ্রনাথবাবু। পরিস্থিতির কারণে বেশ কয়েক বছর বাড়িছাড়াও থাকতে হয়েছে তাঁকে।
জিতেন্দ্রনাথ সর জানান, তিনি প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিলেন— বাংলায় বিজেপি ক্ষমতায় এলে তিনি মাথা-মুন্ডন করবেন। সেই প্রতিজ্ঞা পূরণ করতেই এবার মাথা-মুন্ডন করলেন তিনি।
জিতেন্দ্রনাথবাবুর এই কর্মকাণ্ডে পরিবারের সদস্যদের পাশাপাশি এলাকাবাসীর মধ্যেও মিশ্র প্রতিক্রিয়া দেখা গিয়েছে। তবে নিজের রাজনৈতিক বিশ্বাস ও প্রতিজ্ঞার প্রতি অবিচল থাকার বার্তাই দিতে চেয়েছেন তিনি।

19th May 2026: Jindal (India) Limited, part of the BC Jindal Group and one of the leading downstream steel products manufacturers in the country, today announced the successful commissioning of its new state-of-the-art high-speed continuous Colour Coating Line (CCL) at its Ranihati manufacturing complex in Howrah district, West Bengal .

This achievement follows a series of monumental operational strides. Recently, Jindal (India) Ltd commissioned a state-of-the-art Galvanizing Coating line, cold rolling mill, and Pickling facility in February 2026. With this major milestone, Jindal (India) Ltd has successfully completed its ambitious Rs 1,500-crore capex investment in West Bengal.

As part of its overall expansion plan, BC Jindal Group, led by Mr. Shyam Sunder Jindal, Promoter, BC Jindal Group, had inked a supply agreement with John Cockerill India in FY25 for the cutting-edge Colour Coating Line which is expected to deliver an output of 2,75,000 tons per annum. In FY27, the company’s revenue is projected to surge by 75 per cent as the plant’s production capacity will reach a dominant 60,000 tons per month, recording a jump of 76 per cent.

“The commissioning of this new line, a part of our larger expansion strategy, mirrors our unswerving commitment to cater to India’s evolving infrastructure needs. A market leader in India’s downstream steel products manufacturing space, JIL, with this new line, will transition into a high-volume player while ensuring it continues to deliver premium products through high-quality manufacturing”, said a Jindal (India) Limited spokesperson.

The colour coating line includes a multi-stage cleaning section, tension leveller, chemical coating, drying and paint coaters with curing ovens with RTO, an inspection station, and a cold laminator. Equipped with latest technology, the CCL can handle wide range of thickness and width of steel strips and produce a variety of coated products with Polyester, RMP, SMP, Epoxy, PVC, PU, PVDF and Teflon paint coating with high-speed continuous processing capabilities.

The BC Jindal Group’s Jindal (India) Limited has two modern factories located at Howrah, West Bengal, and its capabilities include advanced colour coating and metal coating technologies.
